Hosta plantaginea 'Invincible'

Plantain Lily

The very thick, very glossy bright-green foliage of Hosta 'Invincible' is spade-shaped, tapering with wavy margins forming a wide clump. This variety of hosta, also known as Plantain Lily or Funkia, is topped with lavender to white, highly fragrant flowers which appear on tall, leafy, arching stems above the foliage in the late summer. Very long blooming!

The genus name Hosta is after the Austrian physician & botanist Nicholas Host (1761-1834).

Plantain Lily Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Most hostas prefer semi-shade, protected from hot afternoon sun. 'Invincible' doesn't mind full sun if kept watered.
