Penstemon digitalis 'Husker Red'

Beard Tongue

A native to North America, 'Husker Red' Penstemon makes a great landscape display with its brilliant white tubular flowers against the backdrop of its foliage of rich red leaves intermixed with green leaves. Tough in any condition and fairly easy to grow, Beard Tongue can be used as an accent plant, or massed in borders. Plant in the sun and watch the hummingbirds feast on the nectar.

Grow in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. Needs full sun for best foliage color. Avoid wet, poorly-drained soils.
