Sedum 'Autumn Joy'
Stonecrop, tall
A popular perennial that changes with the seasons, 'Autumn Joy' sedum is valued for its late season of bloom and waxy, succulent, attractive green leaves. In late summer to fall, strong, upright stems support enormous rounded clusters of numerous, star-shaped flowers. Autumn Joy's blossoms start rosy-pink in late summer then darken to rich ruby-red and finally rusty red in late fall. Stonecrop's foliage dies back in winter, but the dried, brown, upright flower heads may be left to provide winter interest and seeds for songbirds.
