Veronica spicata 'Royal Candles'

Offering a compact habit and two or more months of deep blue-purple flower spikes in late spring and summer, 'Royal Candles' is considered one of the best upright forms of Veronica. Appearing in candelabra-like clusters above mats of dark green leaves, the dense, vertical, tapered-at-the-top, fuzzy flower spikes attract bees and butterflies. Bloom will often continue if spent flowers are removed. The foliage turns golden yellow in fall instead of dying back like some speedwell varieties, making it the perfect plant for the front of the border.
