Sedum kamtschaticum

Stonecrop, low

Sedum 'kamtschaticum' makes a fine dense groundcover where soils are poor and winters dry and cold. Its spoon-shaped, fleshy, dark green leaves are toothed at their tips and densely borne on low stems. In the summer, starry orange-yellow flowers appear in clusters, followed by dark red fruits that provide fall and winter interest.

This variety of stonecrop's toughness and its ability to create beautiful green masses of dense foliage makes it a perfect plant for banks, walls, and other difficult sites. The flowers attract butterflies and bees.
