An old-fashioned shade garden favorite, Astilble offers gorgeous color to shady spots! The variety 'Amethyst' offers vibrant, soft feathery lavender flowers on tall spikes in late spring. Amethyst Astilbe has a fernlike foliage and will grow in many types of soils, but thrive best when planted in moist, well-drained, shady areas. The flowerheads fade to attractive shades of brown in the fall, providing landscape interest through winter.

Soil should not be allowed to dry out. Performs best in shady locations. Cut back old foliage in spring.
