'Chocolate Chip Ajuga is an attractive ground cover with a mix of light and dark foliage. The purplish-burgundy foliage forms a tight mat with nice subtle shades of brown throughout. Ajuga reptans 'Chocolate Chip' has thinner, smaller and more elongated leaves than most ajuga varieties. In spring, spikes of blue flowers stand above the foliage. Best utilized as a small area ground cover.
Bugleweed Growing and Maintenance Tips:
All varieties of Ajuga grow best in partial to full shade and will tolerate any soil, as long as it is well-drained. Mow on highest setting to remove spent flowers.
