A steady and reliable performer, Dicentra 'King of Hearts', has everything you could want in a fern-leaved bleeding heart. King of Hearts offers sun and heat tolerance, bright rose heart-shaped flowers that appear from late spring into fall, and lacy, soft blue-green foliage with a compact habit. This Northwest native's blooms dangle in single file at the end of each stem, swaying in the slightest breeze. While blooming slows with the onset of summer heat, 'King of Hearts' has proven to rebloom if kept moist and cool. Deadheading promptly also encourages new buds to form.
