Garden Mums

For 2019, we are again offering two types of garden mums!

Our classic, legendary Yoder® mums bred for strong but flexible stems and excellent flower longevity, in traditional and unique colors on well-rounded plants, AND Belgian® mums which are noted for being very round and "ball shaped", covered with an uncountable number of flowers.

We offer mid, late, and season extenders to keep you covered for fall!

Mums are a low maintenance and easy to grow plant for fall. They are loaded with flowers and come in a wide selection of colors, flower types and bloom times. Mums grow best in full sun location. Mature plants should be planted far enough apart so the foliage does not touch. Plant at same soil level as original container and water in thoroughly. Mums bloom in response to the shorter days and longer nights of fall. Normal rainfall is usually sufficient for mums. During dry spells, water as needed to keep from wilting.

It should be noted that in cold winter climates such as the St. Louis area, plants given winter protection may survive, but not always. Winter hardiness can vary considerably from year to year and from location to location within the same hardiness zone. Garden mums are usually purchased in pots in late summer each year and grown as fall flowering annuals to supplement or replace summer annuals, rather than as permanent additions to the garden.

Mums are beautiful for weddings too!
