Allium cernuum

Nodding Onion

Allium cernuum, or Nodding Onion, is perfect for the sunny rock garden, for edging, or in containers. Plants form a low clump of grass-type foliage, and tiny bell-shaped pink flowers appear in loose, nodding clusters atop erect stems rising above the foliage.  Drought tolerant once established. This Missouri native is attractive to butterflies and blooms all summer!

Nodding Onion Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil in full sun to light shade. Best in full sun, but appreciates some light afternoon shade in hot summer climates.
