Carex flacca ‘Blue Zinger’ features attractive blue-green grass-like foliage. It typically grows in clumps to 10-20” tall. Insignificant greenish-white grass-like flowers appear in summer. It is grown in the landscape for its foliage effect. Works well in sweeps as a ground cover. 

Blue Sedge Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Easily grown in average, medium to wet soil in full sun to part shade. Best in constantly moist, fertile soil, but more tolerant of drying out than many of the other Carex species. Competes well with shallow tree roots. Evergreen only in warm winter climates. Cut foliage to the ground and remove in late winter.
