Phlox subulata 'Snowflake'

Creeping Phlox

Phlox subulata 'Snowflake' is a variety of creeping phlox, or moss phlox, that boasts clear white flowers with dark green glossy foliage and a wonderful compact growth habit. Phlox subulata is a vigorous, spreading, mat-forming, sun-loving phlox that is noted for its creeping habit, its needle-like leaves (which retain some green in winter) and its profuse carpet of mid-spring flowers with notched flower petals. Loose clusters of fragrant, tubular flowers bloom in profusion during April and May. Especially spectacular cascading over a rock wall!

Creeping Phlox Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Trim back after flowering to the low green foliage for lush new growth. Do not prune in fall, clean-up winter damage in spring. Plants grow well in sandy or gravely soils.
