Athyrium nip. 'Regal Red' features silvery fronds that have bright red to burgundy centers and stems. Colors intensify as the plant matures. The leaves also twist a little for a ruffled look. More tolerant of drier soils than most ferns.

Japanese Painted Fern Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Easily grown in organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soil in part shade to full shade. Best frond color in light shade. Soil must not be allowed to dry out.
